Dice Rolling Trays

These dice trays are made of 3D printed wood and real leather. I designed these using surface modeling and 3D sketches in order to create a non-uniform sweep path. All of this creates an imperfect 3D model that looks and feels more more like wood than a normal 3D print would look. The grain is added through fuzzy skin effects as well as manually added with gel stain.

In order to mount the leather and provide a seamless transition between the wood and leather, I heat inserted threaded inserts and attached the leather and base with screws.
